Virtual Water Color Workshops 2020

With social distancing and lockdowns keeping everyone confined, art has been a wonderful way to destress and reconnect with ourselves. Throughout this period, I’ve hosted Live art workshops, interacting with existing and new students across experience levels.

Here are some examples of our virtual class projects in watercolor, where we’ve explored composition, layout, color density/tonal values and techniques.

On October 8th The Campion Renewal Center in Weston Massachusetts was the site of a special painting session for artists from several of Cecilia’s classes.

Cecilia demonstrated the techniques for creating sunlit clouds using a photo for reference.  The demonstration was held in the Center’s beautiful and inspiring Chapel.

Following the session, all gathered together for lunch in the Center cafeteria.

The beauty of the late summer garden of Cecilia’s neighbor became the site of an August plein air workshop.

Artists gathered on a lovely day to paint their impressions of the garden guided by Cecilia’s demonstration.

Back at her studio refined her own painting, matted and framed it and presented  it to her neighbor as a thank you for welcoming Cecilia and her artists to her garden.

W_TriTownBarnCecilia’s student artists will be featured at Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) weekend Art Show at Berlin’s 1870 Town Hall. Original paintings and photographs, inspired by the natural beauty of Northborough, Berlin and Boylston will be on display and available as silent auction items or may be purchased at a special ‘Buy it Now’ price.

The artists’ work reflects the importance of SVT’s latest conservation endeavor in this region, the Tri-Town Landscape Protection (“Tri-Town”) Project. The Town of Berlin, the Town of Northborough, the Town of Boylston, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts join SVT in an effort to protect 500 acres of land that comprises quality habitat, working farms, and recreational trails. Working in a nine-square-mile area around Mount Pisgah and the Wachusett Reservoir, the group is striving to save an ecologically important and visually stunning landscape from further development.

Cecilia welcomes you to enjoy the work of many of her talented artists and learn more about the Tri-Town Landscape Protection Project.
